Delivering your boat to it's home port
A delivery project?
35 to 60 feet? Monohull or multihull? Whether or not you have entrusted us with the search for a boat, individuals, rental companies, or boating professionals, Mathieu and his team of professional skippers will take care of transporting your boat to its safe port, wherever it is in the world and whatever its destination!
No matter what, did you know this?
The practice and profession of a skipper are governed by the rules of the STCW convention, which establishes the minimum requirements for skills that seafarers must have. However, the convention does not specify the terms of validation for these acquired skills; these are at the discretion of 127 signatory states, including France, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
Each state may add additional or more stringent training requirements and issue its own diploma courses. In such cases, these requirements only concern skippers who wish to work on board vessels flying the flag of that state. For example, a skipper wishing to work on board a vessel flying the French flag must hold, among other things, either Captain 200 or Captain 500, depending on the navigation program envisaged by the shipowner.
The skippers contracted by BWS are all qualified under the STCW convention and are covered by professional skipper liability insurance taken out with PANTAENIUS!

- The captain is the owner of the vessel or his designated representative; as such, he is responsible for the command of the vessel.
- The owner constitutes the crew and ensures that it is covered either by the ship’s insurance or by private life accident insurance.
- The owner insures the vessel with a multi-risk insurance policy, covering the envisaged navigation area and period.
- The BWS coach has a professional civil liability certificate for the type of vessel, the intended navigation, and the period.
- The BWS coach undertakes to support and share his knowledge and experience of offshore navigation, to teach safety maneuvers, and to participate in maneuvers in navigation and in port.

- BWS is responsible for the crew on board, and the service is covered by its professional liability. The BWS skipper also has professional liability insurance taken out with PANTAENIUS.
- BWS carries out a check of the vessel before departure to ensure its seaworthiness and conformity with regulatory equipment related to the navigation zones crossed. The company also establishes with the owner a detailed inventory as well as a descriptive statement contradictory to the ship.
- BWS provides the crew with all means of communication (satellite telephone) enabling them to inform the owner at regular intervals, with the cost of communications remaining the responsibility of the owner. An EPIRB beacon is made available to the crew.
