About Us
At the genesis of BlueWaterSailboats.eu,
Two sailor-owners, who met during a delivery,
Passionate about the sea and sailboats above all, like most sailing enthusiasts,
Share the same idea, having experienced it several times, that the choice of a boat is difficult.
Convinced that the path to finding and acquiring the sailboat of our dreams, whether new or not, is far from being clearly defined.
That the shift initiated by the large general shipyards in recent years to attract a greater number of future sailors opens the way to innovative and more hedonistic sailing, definitively oriented towards coastal navigation, leisure, and the pleasures of anchoring.
The boats of the 2000s are ultimately much closer to those of the 80s than those of 2020. The offer has been split, offering fewer compromises than their older counterparts. In fact, generalist shipyards have turned towards ultra-leisure, while other “niche” shipyards strive to preserve a little of the heritage of good seamanship without forgetting the pleasure of sailing in all conditions!
Also convinced that the new challenges of the post-COVID-19 global economic situation make the task even less easy for future buyers of new boats when the time for choice arrives.
So, in this context, a no-brainer for passionate sailors like us has come to mind evidently:
“Bringing one’s thoughts and dreams to a recent second-hand unit from one of the renowned shipyards such as Amel, Hallberg Rassy, X-Yachts, and others, is not only possible but also a very wise and reasoned choice in terms of investment!

DISCOVERING OUR CREW
Mathieu G. – 36 years old – Skipper
Mathieu’s words: Navigating on motorboats since childhood, I discovered sailing a good ten years ago with the best school, that of light sailing, on a 420 from the Lanaverre shipyard. With a few additional desires for freedom, I was able to acquire my first small living space, a 6.1 hi-hat.
Without any help, I learned to sail the old-fashioned way with a jib with carabiners, without GPS or autopilot, navigating between the sandbanks and currents of the Arcachon basin. It was a highly educational experience that later took me to another playground, between the Gulf of Lion and the Balearic Islands aboard my valiant “sea foam.” With this self-taught background, the sounds of pontoons opened the way for my first deliveries, and today I boast an experience of more than 20,000 NM acquired in the deep sea aboard sailboats ranging from 26 to 60 feet, with a 100% success rate.
To validate my professional skills and open myself up to a European clientele, I am registered for the Yachtmaster Ocean diploma issued by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), an internationally recognized professional skipper diploma.

Guillaume C. – 52 years old – Business Manager
Guillaume’s words: As a sailboat owner since the age of 25, when I began coastal cruising on my first 210, the initial vessel in a rather long series of sailboats all named “Embellie”.
Other “Embellies” then followed, adapting to the evolution of my navigation programs and the chapters of my life. All were different sailboats, whether new or used: Dufour 32, Océanis 36 CC, Gib Sea 414, Astus 24 (trimaran), and finally, an Océanis 46, the last of the “Embellie”.
As life progressed and circumstances changed, I turned my attention to the world of regattas. In 2019, I founded a sports association to support emerging young sailors in the French Southern League, providing them access to One Design and IRC regattas, in addition to their primary sailing discipline (mostly Nacra 15). To realize this project, I invested independently, without sponsors, in a J70 and a Bepox 850, paving the way for the Kiss&Fly series.
Due to family reasons, I had to conclude this grand adventure in 2022 and redirected my focus towards a more personal project—the refit of a classic sailboat, a Chassiron 38 GT from 1979, built by the Richard shipyard.
From these diverse experiences, filled with joy on the water, occasional disappointments, and moments of disillusionment, coupled with my meeting with Mathieu, and numerous discussions with friends and pontoon neighbors, the Bluewatersailboat.eu project has matured.
